inline image
<World-Wide Web> An image that appears within the body of a web page. Most graphical web browsers can display both GIF and JPG images inline. The web browser may give the user an option to turn off inline images, to speed up the display of web pages. Other image formats may have to be displayed in a separate window and/or by another application program. An inline image in a web page is achieved with the <IMG> HTML tag, which can take many attributes. The SRC attribute gives the URL from which to fetch the image and the ALT attribute gives text to display in place of the image for users with images disabled or who are using text-only browsers or text-to-speech convertors (e.g. blind users). Data exchange

Data exchange is the process of taking data structured under a source schema and transforming it into a target schema, so that the target data is an accurate representation of the source data. Data exchange allows data to be shared between different computer programs.

It is similar to the related concept of data integration except that data is actually restructured (with possible loss of content) in data exchange. There may be no way to transform an instance given all of the constraints. Conversely, there may be numerous ways to transform the instance (possibly infinitely many), in which case a "best" choice of solutions has to be identified and justified.

Examples of use of data exchange
1. "Making the data exchange a reality at the earliest possible moment is among our highest priorities," he said.
2. He notes that at international meetings seismologists have frequently deplored the absence of free seismic data exchange with India, but to little effect.
3. Most Internet operations will become much faster. «At present, very simple forms of data exchange are taking place due to a lack of space and small bandwidth.
4. Senior Bush administration officials said the data exchange is crucial for spotting dangerous people before they enter the United States and for furthering criminal and terrorist investigations.
5. Those network efforts will begin expanding further this month, as some local and state agencies connect to a fledgling Justice Department system called the National Data Exchange, or N–DEx.
